How Do You Compete?

I just reconnected with some friends and noticed that they all were doing some great things like ski trips, trips to Europe; they all had trendy clothing and looked really happy. I also am really happy, but haven't gone anywhere except to Dallas and Provo a couple of times to visit family, so how do you compete with other people? How do you compete in how you dress when you would rather spend money on your child and give him everything he needs than buy yourself something. How do you compete with other married couples that wait so long to have kids and are out traveling, when you felt it was the right thing for you to do to have kids soon after you got married? How do you compete with people who don’t understand your importance of family? How do you compete with people who are in the same situation as you, and seem to be doing better than you? I don't understand how some people do it. I mean, buying houses when there is no income coming in, having nice cars when you are going to school, now I am not condemning or accusing anyone of anything but how are we supposed to compete with you? I guess all I am trying to say is that this transition process is hard. It is hard trying to phase into the next stage of life-adulthood, when most people your age don't even think of children, and those who have families seem to have skipped the whole transition process. How do you compete with someone, when the happiness you feel is something that can't be measured. - Zach

P.S. This is an old picture. Can you tell I have lost 15 lbs.? Compare with picture below.

Why is It?

Why is it that only crazy Mormons get on television?
Why is it that many smart people are socially inept?
Why is it that the more women get plastic surgery the
more they start to look like lions?
Why is it that more and more people talk to themselves?
And why is it that my son only looks at me when his
mom is holding him and visa versa (that's what's in the pic)?

The other picture is when Xander somehow caught his leg into his play pen.
