First Comes Love, Then Comes Marriage, Then Comes the Sleepless Nights

We had a regular doctor’s appointment on Wednesday the 20th and our doctor examined Codi and told us that she had already dilated to a 2. He was sure that she was going to have a baby that night. We were really upset because we wanted to go to my sisters wedding on the 22nd and go to my parents for Christmas. We went back to the doctors the next day and still no baby and she had not dilated any more, so we decided to go to my sisters wedding anyways, as well as Christmas, and still no baby. We had another appointment on the 28th of December and he examined her again. He asked if she was hurting any and she said no. He told her that she was already dilated to a four. He told us to go home, get something to eat, since that will be last time it will be just the two of us, and go to the hospital because we are having a baby that day. When we made it to the hospital and checked it she was already dilated to a 5, then an hour later to a 6. The doctor broke her water and labor kept on progressing. She was dilated to an 8 for a while and our OB/GYN called and said that she was going to have a c-section is she did not dilate anymore within an hour. We said probably 15 prayers in that hour and when she was checked again she was ready to push. She pushed for a total of one hour and 15 minutes and our little boy was born on December 29th, 2006 at 2:11 in the morning.
