The Beck Trek

On my Spring Break Codi and I decided to take a well needed trip to go see Codi's family, and instead of flying we wanted to take a road trip to Utah and make a stop at the Grand Canyon. It was the longest drive of my life. Having to stop every three hours to feed Xander in the car, as well as changing him in the car was an adventure. He was such a good baby though. His cousins had a wonderful time meeting him and no one could keep their hands to themselves. Xander had a good time as well. He was making so many new noises and facial expressions, especially with his Grandpa. Everytime Grandpa K would open his mouth he would start making fun noises. It was fun seeing Codi's family.
Also, on a random note, we have recently noticed the hidden blessing in having a car seat. We have heard to never take Xander out of the car seat because bad things can happen, but on the road home we had to take him out so he could stretch and what do you know, bad things happened. With a baby in the car seat no one will dare to touch him. We were at Pizza Hut on the way home and while Xander was out of his car seat some crazy ladies came over and started playing with Xander. While I was up walking with Xander one lady asked if she could hold him. I lied and said, "I am sorry, he is sick." She said, "I am a grandma, I can't get sick anymore. Let me hold him." I nicely said no and walked away. Then while it was Codi's turn to hold him. Another lady said, "Can I show you the best way to burp a baby?" And Codi being too nice let this crazy, country lady hold my baby. It was a scary moment for all. So the thing to learn from this story is...do not take your baby out of the car seat until you are ready for creepy strangers to touch and hold your baby, or else you should come up with reasons why they should not touch your baby.

Our Little "Beefcake"

So Xander had a doctors appointment about two weeks ago for his two month checkup, and also to get his shots. He weighs 12 lbs, 12 oz and is a little under 24 in. long. He is growing so much and we can already tell that he is getting bigger and bigger. I never thought that I would be the person to say, "he's growing up so fast," but I am saying it. I guess mammas milk does a body good.

Keep Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

We always give Xander at least 30 minutes a day of tummy time so he can work on his neck muscles, even though he hates being on his tummy. Well yesterday I put him on his tummy and he actually kinda liked it. He started moving quite a bit and then he pushed his torso up on one side. His left side was up in the air and I thought he was going to turn over, but then he went back to his tummy, then he pushed off on his left side again and then kicked the ground and rolled over on his back. We could not believe that he had rolled over. We congratulated him and then tried to see if he would do it again. We put him on his tummy again and he just rolled over to the right side. It was so exciting. Later that night we tried video tapping him to prove it but he is a little shy. We are still trying to get him to roll over so hopefully we can post that soon.

Baby Recliner

Our good friends from Lubbock sent us a picture of their cute little boy watching tv in a baby recliner. We have searched for a couple of weeks to find one for Xander and finally found one. It helps kids to be able to sit up quicker and he likes it a lot. Either that or it helps kids quickly learn what the word lazy means.

Random Comment

So, I just realized that the picture of Xander in the tux makes him look so big. We took both of those pictures on his blessing day and he looks really small in one and looks really big in the other, oh well. So I was just thinking of some things today and thought I would ask everyones opinion. Does it seem like blogs are becoming a popularity thing? I click on someones blog and they have like 20 friends attatched to their blog. How do you get permission to add someones name to your blog, do you do it without asking?
Another comment, I realized what my new pet peeve is today. My old pet peeve was people dressing pets up in humans clothing, which is really weird, (KIM). But today I was in the bathroom and realized my new pet peeve is when people talk on the cell phone while in the bathroom, especially while using the restroom. I try to flush and make as many obvious noises while I am in there. SO people, stop talking on the cell phone while using the restroom. We are a society of multi taskers but that is taking it to the extreme.

Stayin' Alive

When my parents came for Xanders blessing she brought along another blessing outfit, just in case my old one did not fit. It was a mini tuxedo, with a bow tie, ruffles, cumberbund and tails. We could not resist putting him in it and only wish that it could be a nice pale blue color. (The pose was not staged at all, he just has dancing in his blood.) I just wish that Codi still had a prom dress so that they could have a picture together.
