A dedication to all the other mothers out there....

Recently I have noticed a trend on the blogs of some of my friends. It's a trend that seems to be catching on quickly with all the little ones. What's this hot new trend, you may ask......

TANTRUMS.

Yep, the little ones are not only raising up, but raising their voices as well. My friend Sara is dealing with fits, my friend Bekah is trying to "find a happy place" while her little one perfects the art of the tantrum, and our little Xander is leaving me quite dumbfounded. Now,  he isn't participating in the usual arch the back, throw the head, and flail the arms while screaming technique.... instead he has decided that biting his own hands in anger is his preferred method. 

Yep, I have become the mother of the dreaded biting child. Now, I must say on his behalf that he hasn't bitten anyone besides himself, and me(only once or twice). Yet. I've checked many sites that say this is a normal stage that children go through, and it will eventually fade away on it's own. Until that time however... I promise to not be offended when I see many of you turning to run the other direction when we come your way.

In conclusion, I just want to say to all of you mothers out there... HANG IN THERE!! We'll make it through together. And if not.... I'm sure Bekah will save us all a seat on her flight to some remote tropical island. Coconut oil here we come!!! 

I Hate Being an Adult!!!

So I finally got a job.  I gave myself an ulcer while looking, but the end result is all that matters.  I am currently working for Dillard's.  It is a great start.  I am managing the cosmetics department.  I help manage over 75 employees and the second largest department in all of their stores.  Codi loves the perks.  So instead of moving into a house we decided to buy two new cars.  We went in for one Saturn Vue and came out with two, because Codi loved my car so much she wanted one for herself.  But the whole car lot experience was the worst thing we have ever done.

Xander got his first haircut at this really cute place and he loved getting his haircut.  Codi got a new due also, but at a different place.  He still loves dancing and is getting taller and taller.  He can now get on the couch by himself, which scares us.

So for now Oklahoma City is our home, but who knows what the future will hold for us.  Thank you for all of your prayers.

He loves Kanye West, and if you watch close enough you can see him smack his head, which cuts his dancing short.

The Hate Won!!!

After a very hard week for the both of us, we have opted to delete the challenge from our blog and instead of public embarrassment we decided private embarrassment works for us.

Love-Hate Relationship

So I officially love and hate the Hinckley Challenge.  It helps remind us everyday to read the scriptures together and it helps quite a bit, but on the other hand, it makes me feel so guilty when we have missed a day.  So when I get on the computer, it is a constant reminder of how lazy we can be.  Why is it that I have so many love-hate relationships with things?  I have a love-hate relationship with food (because it makes me feel good and bad, both fulfilled and fat), cars (because they make me get places faster and cost so much money to get fixed, $1500 to be exact) and Sprite (because it feels so good going down and I might need to go to rehab to eventually get over my addiction).

A Walk In the Park

I think that sometimes Xander thinks we are hermits, because its too cold to go out yet, and lets face it, we are too lazy to go anywhere else, so we took him to the park today and he could care less about swinging and going down slides.  But what was so interesting is how much he wanted to walk on his own.  There are two reasons why Xander has taken a little longer to walk, #1 he is freakishly tall and it is hard to balance when you so tall, (so that is why midget kids walk when they are 7 months) and #2 because he does not like walking on carpet, on solid ground and grass is what he prefers.  

Also, he helped do our taxes.  Should I worry that the online tax helper shows that we should be getting 5x the amount back we paid in taxes?  Audit here we come.

Xander has taken his first couple of steps but gets shy when we pull out the camera, but he still has not gained enough confidence to move around a lot.  But he loves standing and loves dancing.  Here is just a short little clip of him trying to dance and every time he moves a little too much he gets off balanced.  Enjoy!!!
